I've said it before many times. He's harder to tackle than quantam physics. I can't wait to see him shake off "Ray Ray" Lewis...

Lynch prepping for Friday
The only offensive player that shined was top pick Marshawn Lynchhttp://buffalobills.com/images/relatedicon.gif (http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=5033#). The running back was darting through holes and shaking off hits. Lynch has this ability to bob and weave as he's approaching defenders while still maintaining his speed. That makes it very difficult for defenders to break down and tackle.
At this point Lynch is focused on tying up the loose ends of his game for the first preseason game.
"It'll be here shortly and there's still some time for things that I need to make sure I accomplish out there to make sure I'm ready for when that day comes," said Lynch.

A-train was looking good too. NO doubt in my mind we will have one hell of a 1-2 punch. Hopefully they compliment each other and stay fresh in the 4th qtr.

Hopefully the Bills will go with 2 RB sets like they were planning on doing with Henry and Willis. Sounds like Lynch can break out of formation and go as a WR like Thurman used to do.

The thing about Lynch

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>THE THING ABOUT LYNCH: Watching him bounce off tacklers last night (and granted it's still not live football) I thought about what Marv said at the Hall of Fame last weekend about Thurman, that no one tackled him they just moved him over. There were a few instances at last night's practice when that occurred. But more impressive to me is the way Lynch bobs and weaves his way around defenders.

He has this darting side-to-side motion when he's running at a defender one-on-one in open space and he doesn't need to slow down to do it. It reminds me of Barry Sanders. Not saying Lynch is Sanders, but that open field juking that Sanders broke defender's ankles with is something he appears to have.
I just get the feeling that a lot of NFL defenders are going to be grabbing at air when facing Lynch in the open field, much the way it was when defenders tried to corral Sanders. Again not saying he's Sanders, just saying a component of his running style is very similar to one that Sanders had.
Ironically Lynch's favorite running back growing up was Barry Sanders.

As far as I'm concerned, the Saints game can't get here soon enough. I hope he gets at least a handful of carries and a few screens before he sits.

I dont mean to be a pessimist, but does this mean our defense simply cant tackle?

I would be very disappointed if neither McCargo nor K. Williams stepped their game up. We need one of them to step up. Not to mention, Larry Tripplet better earn his paycheck.

Just a 1-2 punch? I want to see a 1-2-3 combo. Dwayne Wright is a bull and I'd love to see him punish some safeties and a couple linebackers too.

As a huge Cal fan, I've followed Lynch's career since high school. I remember seeing him in the Cal Florida game (I think that's what it was, but it was a High School All Star game). There was a play where I think every defender on the opposite team touched him on a sweep, but he didn't go down. He was eventually pushed out of bounds, but that is pure Marshawn. As a freshman, Cal coaches told him to just go down instead of carrying multiple defenders due to the possibility for a knee injury, etc. He is unbelievably strong. You've all seen the stiff arm capabilities. Combine that with making people look silly as he jukes them out of their shoes, and you have a future star in Buffalo.

As a freshman, he had a 50+ yard TD against Stanford (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u954RitQV2Y) where he makes an All Pac-10 safety look like a clumsy pop warner kid as he juked him with two moves running full speed. In that same highlight video watch the move he puts on USC's safety on a swing pass. In the open field, he is right there with Reggie Bush IMHO in terms of jukability.

I can't wait to watch him show he is far and beyond the better back between he and Peterson.

"Short kick coming down about the 8 yard line and bringing it up is Lynch. He comes across the 25...the 30...the 35...the 40, runs over people! He's at the 50 down to the 45... he's at the 40 down to the 30, he runs over more people!"

Wow, now I really can't wait for this weekend! :gobills:

the first time I saw Travis Henry score a TD in preseason I was ecstatic becuase we didn't know who or what we drafted. Lynch's first TD's is most likely to be a long one because with the way things are looking, A-Train and Wright will be the rb's in short yards or goal line situations.

i think it wont take long before lynch is an everything back.. atrain will become a very rarely used guy..

wright will be the big pounder in certain situations.. but lynch is a tough runner.. i do think it will be a situation where they pull him everytime on the goal line like it was with fred taylor and greg jones.

And what makes this youtube video even better is that half of it is against upper echelon teams (ie. UCLA and USC). Nobody can say he was just running over mid-major teams.

I agree - he absolutely has great vision and makes tremendous cuts, and has power as well. My ONLY concern - and this is just from watching the videos - is his speed. Maybe he is one of those "deceptively fast" guys but he doesn't seem to be a burner. Anyone know his 40 time?

He ran a 4.46 at the NFL combine.

He's plenty fast. Trust me, it's not a concern.

From today:

9-on-7
During the run game segment it appeared as though the defensive line got the better of the line of scrimmage battle. On the first snap Larry Trippletthttp://buffalobills.com/images/relatedicon.gif (http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=5036#) penetrated into the offensive backfield for a tackle for loss on Anthony Thomashttp://buffalobills.com/images/relatedicon.gif (http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=5036#). On the next play Chris Kelsayhttp://buffalobills.com/images/relatedicon.gif (http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=5036#) crashed down from the back side to make a 'would be' tackle at the line of scrimmage.
Marshawn Lynchhttp://buffalobills.com/images/relatedicon.gif (http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=5036#) did scoot through one hole to the left side for what would have been a big gainer, and Lynch was part of a well executed stretch play to the right side by the offensive line. But other than that there were mostly defensive plays made during this period.

Lynch made some smooth receptions out of the backfield including one where he had to turn back to the quarterback to make the catch and then fluidly turned upfield all in one motion.
