I am working the night shift so I can watch the game tonight. It comes on live at 3am in Kuwait. See, ya gotta be on the night shift if one is to watch baseball and football live since there is a 7 hr time difference back to the east coast. If that isn't dedication, then I don't know what is!

It never "works"...it just delays the inevitable. This defensive coaching staff cannot play call this way again this year or it will be a long year. QB's cannot complete that high of a percentage of their passes against us for this team to be a playoff team. It's been pretty embarrassing so far.

Whitner has been sidelined this week with an abdominal injury and was probably not going to play much if he did play. Sounds like Leonard is getting a lot of playing time in his place.

Thought we were gonna open up the offense.

Guess they don't wanna give anything away in the preseason.

Wouldn't hurt them to open it up a little, can't imagine they can come out in week 1 and run it smoothly, without doing it during live game action prior.

Lynch looks like nothing special to this point, and this oline still looks like piss.

I don't like this coaching staff's approach so far. If we want to be different on offense and open it up, then you have to practice it during preseason games. If you want to be more of an attacking defense, then you have to do it during a preseason game. The only way to breed success is to try to achieve it play in and play out.

Considering that the Bills are playing one of the best teams in the NFC, with an explosive offense--a team that lost its first preseason game and was punished for doing so all week by their coach for doing so--I expected the Bills to have some problems with the Saints in this game. But, I also expected more from the Bills on both offense and defense.

I know that the Bills are playing vanilla, etc., etc., but they're just not making plays except with their STs.

Right now the 2nd string D is stinking it up big-time.

Michael82

The offense I have watched at Training Camp is 10x different than what we see on TV right now. This 1st preseason game offense is as vanilla as they come. Don't forget that while this is our 1st game, it's the 2nd pre-season game for the Saints.

Mikey, I'm not trying to be negative because I really want this team to have a good year. However, I don't really care what you see at training camp, this is "real" football and they don't look good. Time will tell, but this is not an encouraging start.

Mikey, I'm not trying to be negative because I really want this team to have a good year. However, I don't really care what you see at training camp, this is "real" football and they don't look good. Time will tell, but this is not an encouraging start.

I agree with some of the negative comments so far. Conservative playcalling offensively is not what I expected, and defensive line so far looks like last year. A little concerned JP is having to scramble as much as he's had to.

Also agree that this is Saints second pre-season game, and it's not fair to expect everything people have seen in training camp in our first pre-season game.

My biggest kudo so far is to Poz. Since he's been in he seems to know exactly where to be, and is reading the plays well. Hats off to Moorman as usual too.

OMG! Not a single pass or run over 10 yards!

What a horrible performance by Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriots offense!

I don't have a good setup for watching and posting at the same time. Here's my impressions of the first half. It looks like the Bills' first preseason game. In general the Saints look a little sharper. The Bills starting offense in particular didn't look very sharp. I think reports of Nall's demise are a bit premature. He failed to finish off a drive. In the final series of downs, his pass on second down wasn't particularly sharp, but overall, it was a pretty good series. It appeared to me that the Bills played a little more vanilla than the Saints, which may be why the Saints appeared able to move the ball a little more consistently than the Bills. I am impressed that despite not playing particularly well the Bills are tied at halftime with a very good Saints team.

actually, if you look bad and read the posts...you started the name calling and telling us we were ignorant and that you have to question our football IQ.

Mikey...I really don't care, but no, I wasn't the first to throw out crap about somebody else. See below...

I'm sorry, but you guys who think this game matters are morons.

Mikey, you know more about football than this post, please stop. You CANNOT compare the Bills to the Patriots.

I can show you Tony Romo if you'd like. :D

I think how your team performs in preseason is dependant on each team. Brady doesn't have anything to prove.

I'm just saying. Oh and I will do the same thing with the other games too. Usually the first game is just for the teams to get their feet wet and they never use much of their playbook. It's usually as vanilla as they come.

this Saints team looks completely different than they did in the HOF game last week. they couldnt do anyting right in that game. what we really need to look for is marked improvement in the Bills' next game.

I read in one of the NYC papers that their coach was so mad at them after the HOF game bcause of their lack of effort that he cancelled their scheduled light practice and made them work in pads all week and made them do some extra work during their first practice after they got back from the HOF game.

I kinda figured that they would be unhappy about that and come out fired up for this game. But, I was also hoping that the Bills would show a little more at the start of this game as well. They had said they were going to be playing pretty vanilla, but it certainly sounds like there has been a problem with their execution within that. That'll give the Bills' coaches something to focus on this week in their practices, even if they decide to keep things pretty vanilla next week as well.

I do agree that it would feel good today if the 1st stringers looked better when they were in. But I just don't think the first pre-season game, even with the 1st stringers are in, matters all that much.

We are in full agreement that we will be very ticked off if we see the same old crap as last year when the regular season starts.

Agreed, this will not make or break our season, but God, I hope they look better next week.

Next week will be a better gauge of how this team is going to look.

As usual with the arguments on there, both sides take it to far. It's dissappointing to not see very much that is encouraging but there is hardly reason to panic.

Wow is it going to be hard for Jauron to pick the RBs or what.....

All of the RBs are pretty good. Jackson and Williams will be the toughest decision!
