1. Shaud Williams looked good on the return team, and this is only the 1st of 4 preseason games.

2. Won't see too many surprise cuts this next week

3. Don't forget this was game #2 for the 'Aints, did see some improvement from the HOF game Sunday night.

Here's Chris Brown's report and the stats from the game--read this and then decide if what you saw fits your comments!!!

Buffalo's first team defense gave up some long drives to the league's number one offense from last season, but were stingy when it came to surrendering points Friday night as big plays helped the Bills earn a 13-10 victory.
"We didn't execute at a top level and you generally don't in your first exhibition," said head coach Dick Jauron. "Would you like to see it? Yeah you'd like to see it. We're not happy with some of the things that occurred. We need to correct them and get better, but it's always nice to win. We're happy we got a win against a good football team."
After two good early stops by Buffalo's run front forced an early 3rd-and-7 on the Saint's first drive the Bills gave up some yardage in big chunks. Reggie Bush ran through a big hole inside for 13 yards and a first down. Drew Brees then completed his next four passes for a total of 41 yards to move the Saints into field goal range.
But after Tim Anderson and Angelo Crowell made a good stop on Deuce McAllister for a loss of one on second down and a John DiGiorgio pressure on Brees forced an incompletion on 3rd-and-2, Langston Walker blocked Olindo Mare's 27-yard field goal attempt to keep New Orleans scoreless.

I came to the conclusion that we have the worst rotation of DTs in the league. Seriously. They, the first teamers, routinely got pushed around all evening.

Yes, agreed. Walker looked bad at RT. He plays tremendously top heavy and once a player gets even halfway past him, that's it, he's useless. Just as was his schtick with the Raiders.

Poz did play well, but I wish they had started him with the first unit. Much of his play was against players of collegiate caliber and won't make the final 53-man. Still, he's our one hope on D for much beyond horrendousness.

Lynch didn't get many opps. TBD there.

A ton of work yet to do prior to our home opener. If we hit the field like we did yesterday however, it's gonna be ugly.

Also agreed, there were really no positives last night of any consequence until we start seeing Poz and Lynch do something w/ the first teams against first team competition.

Only the first game and the 53 man cut doesn't come until just before the first regular season game. And that will come from the final 75 at that time.
Still four more weeks of practice until then, and then we see if we can dance with what we brought to the table against the rest of the league.

Agreed, it's early. But we have to be concerned b/c this is the same way we played all of last season for the most part. So essentially that's what we are until proven otherwise. We didn't even take the first step towards proving differently last night, particularly with the O, and this wasn't the Patriot or Raven D.
