    Marv Levy's Influence

The first preseason game is over and it is evident to me that this was a Marv Levy pre-season game.
    1) Starters saw little time on the field and the time they did spend were for very specific reasons (JP/Reed, Langston Walker ST etc)
    2) Schemes were very vanilla on both sides of the ball
    3) Win/loss was obviously not as important as scouting

All in all you can chalk last night up to a glorified scrimmage game for the Bills, typical Marv Levy preseason.

Didn't see this before making my thread....

Awesome show of discipline from this team. Even the hold on Peters could have been offset because it was obvious to me that the corner defending the play could have been called on pass interference.

I can't believe we had one penalty in the first preseason game, excellent job in that regard.

trivia: what was the total w/l record of the historic four straight buffalo bills?

answer: i actually dont know but im gonna make an educated guess at 3-11

moral: preseason doesnt mean s*** and the smart coaches use it for evaluation and preparation, nothing more

conclusion: trust in The Marv and find peace ohm

              Correct sir!
It is for evaluation purposes and further instilling discipline. The win was a bonus but not the objective.

I think w/l in pre-season is a joke. I actually think the score doesn't matter either.

It's purely to evaluate personnel. The first half of the last pre-season game is when the starters get setup for the regular season and even than it's meaningless.
