4. 1971 Bills (1-13): The 1971 Buffalo lineup was remarkably balanced -- the Bills fielded the worst offense and the worst defense in the NFL. How bad was the offense? The Bills were shut out four times, with QBs Dennis Shaw and James Harris combining for 12 TD passes and 32 interceptions. O.J. Simpson, in his third NFL season, gained less than 750 yards. Meanwhile, the defense's best performance came in game three, when they held the Vikings to "only" 19 points.

It wasn't Dennis Shaw's fault.

The 67 team was worse.

1983 West Seneca West Indians...that team couldn't score on themselves or with our ugly cheerleaders.

For a single year I have to agree with the 71 Bills.

For all-time worst franchises I'd have to go with the Aints (I lived in NO from 79-82 and saw one good game - when the Bills came to town and kicked their butts!) and Lions (who may NEVER get to a Superbowl).

I'd agree that the Aints are the overall worst franchise...I was stationed in NO for 3 years (90-93) and it seems that those were their best years...They won the division once and made the playoffs twice...Losing at home both times...Hell they just won their first playoff game 2 years ago...But they are making strides to get out of the cellar...

Over the last 10 years I'd say the worst franchise has been the Bengals...Nepotism at its finest running that franchise into the ground...:monte:

Yeah, Phins, you're right. The Bungles are a horrendous franchise. The highlight of their year may be their preseason victory over the Bills!

Looking back on this years draft when they could have traded out of the 10 spot and still gotten the player they wanted + an extra pick...Here is all the proof to the stupidity of the Bengals.

Bear in mind also that the nepotism carnival running the Bengals committed the worst non-trade in history in 1999. That was the year Mike Ditka, then at the Saints, was offering the world to snag Ricky Williams. Ditka proposed to give the Bengals three No. 1 picks for the slot used to select Akili Smith, plus other choices. Cincinnati said no to three No. 1 picks, plus other choices, in order to take a gentleman who has since been securely nailed to the bench. In essence the Bengals were offered a Herschel Walker deal -- remember how that cornucopia of picks made the Cowboys' Super Bowls team possible in the 1990s -- and said no. It's hard to believe that even an organization based on nepotism could have bungled so badly.

I would have to go with the early Bucs teams as being the worst over all. After all, I believe that the will have a franchise winning percentage of .500 IF they go undefeated for the next 9 years
