For being a big time program you would think they could take on a little more challeging non-conference schedule.

Florida International
Buffalo
Temple

C'mon.

And one rebuilding/decent team, Notre Dame.

You think you could schedule a middle of the road team from a big conference ?
Instead they have three teams that are in the bottom ten of all college football.

Moved to proper forum and I think they like many other BCS conf teams play easy non-conf schedules. Look at all the major conf teams and you'll see a ton of patsies scheduled. Georgia used to play Samford every year.

Yeah, one or two games but three of the bottom ten ?
But this has been going on for decades with this team. Go ahead and look it up and tell me what you think.

Bottom Ten in DI is better than playing any DIAA, or DII schools

You do realize PSU's third string can beat all three of those teams don't you ?

Sure they can but do they really need three out of four ?

how about a couple of middle of the road teams from the Big12, Sec, ACC, Pac 10.

I'm not saying Texas, LSU, V-tech, or USC. Let's go with Oklahoma St., Vandy, North Carolina, Wash. St. type teams.

Exactly my point. All teams PSU should still beat 9 out of10 times. Make it a game at least.

what?

what?

Can't understand that either ?

I'll try again; Schedule games that would be somewhat of a game. Not games where your a five touchdown favorite and the games is over at half-time.

Schedule one or two creampuffs, tops.

How's that ?

Im just confused as to why your bantering on and on about Penn State when we can go back and forth (and have) about DI teams who schedule nothing but puffcake non-conf schedule. If you hate that then of course I agree whole heatidly with you, but dont just spew crap at PSU bc you hate them and ignore the problem as a whole.

JC D-Boy, the whole point is schedule one or two creampuffs, not 3 out of 4.

Again Penn State is not the only team doing it so why only bag on them?

Find me one other bigtime program that has three easier non-conference games than those three games PSU has.

DraftBoy
08-14-2007, 06:56 PM
Florida:
Western Kentucky
Troy
FAU
FSU (PSU plays ND)

Arkansas:
Troy
Univ Tennessee Chattanooga
North Texas
FIU

Kentucky:
Eastern Kentucky
Kent State
Louisville (rivalry game)
FAU

Vanderbilt:
Richmond
Eatern Michigan
Miami (OH)
Wake Forest

And thats just in the SEC alone

I'll give you Arkansas. The others don't quite match.

Troy, FAU, Miami-OH are top- teams in their conferences.

FIU, Buffalo, Temple are bottom-10 out of 119 D-1 teams.

DraftBoy
08-14-2007, 07:21 PM
Miami of Ohio is slotted to finish like 5th in their division of the MAC ranked 94th nationally, Troy ranks 81st nationally, and FAU is 108. Im sorry but those are not top teams in their conferences.

eyedog
08-14-2007, 07:26 PM
Ok. Where are Buffalo, FIU, and Temple ranked ?

eyedog
08-14-2007, 07:29 PM
Troy is probably the favorite in their conf. And I know Miami-oh is better than both Buff and Temple in the MAC.

DraftBoy
08-14-2007, 08:33 PM
Miami-OH is perdicted to finish just ahead of Buff and Temple which pretty much points them on equal footing.

Buffalo-116
Temple-118
FIU-119
Notre Dame-36 (just to throw it out there)

So they are playing 3 of the 4 worse teams in Div 1-a.
What the hell they might as well schedule #117 next year.

They are also playing a team that is a perennial title contender who happens to be in a rebuilding year. You wont give them even a inch will you?

Yes they are playing a perinnial overrated Notre Dame who routinely get's their ass kicked in a BCS bowl game they don't belong in.

The team I bet on.
Actually I like PSU because I usually buck them when they play a good team. $$$$$$$.
They are always overpriced due to the Joe Pa bs and their misleading gaudy record by beating up **** teams like FIU, Buffalo, and Temple.

This happens with regularity NT.
PSU beats up on their usual crap opponets early in the year, are overrated, then get hammered when they play a good team. Even a down Mich. team with a Freshman qb starting. The best part was Mich was getting points at home.

Thank-you again PSU for your yearly contribution to my $$$$$ fund.

LOL. Another typical, overrated Penn st. performance.

That's what you get "Joe Pa" for scheduling bum teams before the league games.

Even w/ a POS like Jay Paterno screwing things up (can't recruit worth a damn, can't coach/develop QBs worth a damn, can't call plays worth a damn), PENN STATE is still able to recruit fairly well, especially in PA and MD, a state that has a good deal of talent. If they were to get rid of Jay (much more the problem than Joe, as many who know of PENN STATE will tell you), they have a chance to get back to their winning ways of the 80s (2 national titles) and early 90s (screwed out of the title in '94).
