Step One was hitting the road. Rather than hang around Western New York and brood over failure, he spent part of his offseason training in Cary, N.C. It’s a small town near Raleigh known locally as the Containment Area for Relocated Yankees. Perfect. He worked out with Josh Stamer and Sam Aiken in the shadows of North Carolina State.

I knew Aiken and Stamer were here during the summers, but not Reed. A guy I used to work with worked out at a gym with Stamer a lot.
