Dolphins lose interest in OT Turley

Dolphins | Lose Interest In Turley - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
5:56 PT: Alex Marvez reports for the Sun Sentinel the Miami Dolphins have apparently dropped out of the running for New Orleans Saints OT Kyle Turley. Dolphins Senior Vice President Rick Spielman confirmed Thursday that the team spoke last week with Turley's agent Tom Condon about what type of contract extension his client would be seeking. Turley reportedly wanted a signing bonus well in excess of the $8.5 million offer he declined from the Saints at the end of last season. The Dolphins would not want to trade for Turley unless he signed a long-term deal. Spielman said he and the Saints never talked about trade parameters.

Wait, the fins are asking star vets to convert guarenteed money into incentives yet they are trying to persue guys like Turley?? They would have to back load the deal so badly that no player would ever go for it. Repeat after me. MIAMI IS BROKE!

If they continue to be prudent and not shop around for a year or two and are smart about players they choose and develop they have a chance to be free in a couple of years. However, they lack a number 1 this year. They better have a great draft and really use those extra picks they are sure to receive for FA lost last year. IF they blow this draft they are in trouble.
