The toughest and easiest September schedules

If you don't think fast starts have a significant bearing on a team's season, you haven't been paying attention. Since 2000, the 14 teams that went to the Super Bowl compiled a combined 36-9 record in the Septembers of their Super Bowl seasons. You don't need a calculator to compute that's a .800 winning percentage.
With that in mind, let's look at the first four weeks of the season. In my opinion, these teams face the five most difficult Septembers. 1. Buffalo Bills
Opponents: Denver, at Pittsburgh, at New England, N.Y. Jets.
    Opponents' 2006 record: 39-25.
2006 playoff teams among opponents: New England, N.Y. Jets.
Comment: Buffalo will be hard-pressed to emerge from September with a victory.

It doesn't take Einstein to figure out that we have a tough start.

Even Pat Moran's dumpster source knows that.

The Jets suck. We can roll them.

          2-2 maybe 3-1

We can beat Denver, Pittsburgh and NYJ.

          No chance at NE.

2-2 at best. I like us in the Denver game and probably the Jets game, but winning in Pitt is a bastard and I dont think I need to explain New England.
SUPER MARIO PLEASE COME TO BUFFALO!!!!

If we are 2-2 I'd be thrilled.

yeah 2-2 is the realistic goal. 1-3 more likely

but even that doesnt rule out the playoffs. im not expecting a super bowl berth, i just want a game in the post season

if they can hover around .500 until the last five games they stand a real chance of making a run to a wild card. even a 6-5 record there means 3-2 gets a 50% chance at a playoff spot, 4-1 about 85%

the bills havent had much luck lately. all it takes is a couple bounces to turn an entire season around. it happens to other teams, why not us

The home openner is the key. If we steal a game there, everything looks up - even if we loses the next two big time.

The Bills under Jauron starts surprisingly while Denvers starts slow the last two years. May football god helps us.
