    Chiefs: Bryson gets workout

    News
The Chiefs are working to find a backup for Priest Holmes. The KC Star reports that the first running back to come to Kansas City is Shawn Bryson. The all-purpose back showed sporadic signs of greatness in Buffalo, but his 2002 season ended early when he tore ligaments in his left knee. Last year's second-stringer, Mike Cloud, did nothing as a starter after Holmes got hurt in mid-December. Cloud is an unrestricted free agent, and will not return to Kansas City.

Prior to the injury, Bryson looked like a good Tiki Barber-type of back. He's got great hands, and has some decent open field moves and speed. The question is, how much game did he leave on the operating room floor?

Yeah. He'd be a good back up to Priest Holmes.

It's better than getting a "workover!"
Replace Donahoe with Modrak and fire the entire coaching staff!

      Then let's go to Disneyworld!

He'll be a good find for some team if his knees are fine.

I don't know if he is comparable to Tiki Barber.

His only real position is "limping" back.

Whoever signs Bryson will be amazed by his training camp, wonder why he does nothing as a backup, be pleased when he has a good half when the starter gets injured and then will spend the rest of the season wondering if that half was just a fluke - we've seen it before.

Under no circumstances would I recommend him as a backup - he's useless when he only gets a few carries a game and he's not good enough to perform consistently when given the bulk of the carries ... hope he enjoys life in Winnipeg or Montreal, cuz those are the only spots he's going to be playing in a few years.
