All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
I must thats is pretty impressive no matter who he is going against. He didn't let the pressure of the NFL get to him, even though it is only the preseason.
I haven't followed him at all, but they are saying Brady Quinn is the real deal in Cleveland. Still, Edwards is the far better bargain because we landed him in the third round.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

He has a lot of catching up to do though. Anderson is fighting it out with Batch for #1 and Quinn isn't even being considered at this point.

Kevin Kolb of Philly had a strong preseason as well.
Of course, it is just preseason, which makes it pretty meaningless.

First, it's Frye not Batch.
From what I've heard Derek Anderson might be cut or traded in the next few days. That was prior to the final preseason game in which Charlie Frye started. I dunno if anything on the field changed Phil Savages opinion on it.
The Browns have 4 QBs on the roster now, Frye, Anderson, Dorsey and Quinn. Dorsey should stay because he's an extremely bright student of the game and accepts his role as such. Which could help Brady immeasurably down the line. Frye has more "skills" than Anderson from what I've seen of Browns football this year Anderson and Frye's stats have been pretty much interchangeable.
So all that makes me willing to bet that Anderson is gonna be out the door based on the numbers game, there's no way the Browns will carry 4 QBs on their roster.
It'll be Frye, Quinn, Dorsey. Quinn probably won't see any NFL action til like week 11 though, unless somehow the Browns remain competitive and Frye plays well. I'm not counting on it, but am very hopeful.
I do have to admit, Quinn's looked halfway decent in the preaseason, against 3rd and 4th stringers. I still hate him. And his holdout cost him the shot of being the week 1 starter.
In the UNLIKELY scenario that somehow Dorsey is released, I say we ditch Nall and his outrageous contract and sign Dorsey immediately.
Dorsey can't throw the ball 15 yards. It's Holcomb all over again.
He should be proud of his college career and move on to coaching or Dancing With The Stars.
The point of picking him up isn't for him to play. Your number 3 QB should never see the field. His role is clipboard holder and knowing defenses, schemes, coverages in which he can teach the younger QBs that. Last I checked we had two young QBs and one, JP, who seemingly isn't the best at reading defenses. Dorsey's help could be very helpful.
And that is the main reason the guy still has a job in the NFL. It's not his physical abilities that keep him around it's his mental abilities.

Also...it's not like Holcomb at all. Dorsey knows he doesn't have the physical ability to start in the league and won't lobby to become a starter. On top of the fact Holcomb isn't very mentally cognitive of the game.
