The Jacksonville Jaguars (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=jac) will name David Garrard (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5994) their starting quarterback for the 2007 season on Friday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported.

ML will pick him up next week off the wire. He's perfect. Lefty will take Preston's place as backup center. The guy's big enough and is elusive, mean quick. Who better can pickup JP's cadence than an ex-qb?
