THis is a good signing, Reese can FS or CB, so if he doesn't beat out PP, we can use him as a nickle or dime back!

Maybe, if he can play cb, this signifies Watson is about to be cut?

          Watson cut? Comforting thought.

if watson is cut, then he replaces him as the nickle back.. but we still dont have a clear replacement for jenkins.

i am indifferent abou this signing.. as i dont know enough about him.. i feel the same as when they signed jenkins last year..

I thought Kevin Thomas played the nickel back at the end of the year last year. Reese must be competing at FS. This kind of makes me think the Bills will definately go DT in the draft and sign a veteren like Mcglockton or whomever Chicago cuts on June 1st. I think we can foret about Mathis.

The fact is we needed another safety and we got a pretty decent one. Don't know if he'll start, but thats what training camp and pre season are for. I dont think were paying too much for him, at least I hope not. Another good signing by TD.
                Beware the sack master!

i dont know about that don.. forget about mathis?

apparently reese can play CB or FS..

mathis is a CB, but projected to FS..

so both guys are interchangable.. (at cb or s)

we cut jenkins.. maybe PP moves back to back up wire...

reese is a FS starter, with mathis as a back up, who can kind or play CB in dime defenses (thomas is our nickle back).. or vice versa with reese and mathis.

Good move...provides depth. I like it...

At this point I am not surprised that Watson has not been cut. Releasing him only saves $150K against the cap. With that little savings the guy has enough experience to warrent a roster spot...until he gets beat out in camp...can never have enough insurance against injuries.

Also, Prioleau is going nowhere for the same reason...cheap and experienced.

i was not implying that pp should be cut.. i just think he is much better at SS.. so he should move there and be a back up.

pasquarelli says deal has a 6 figure signing bonus. We also outbid the Falcons for his services. We liked him because of his versatility, he is a sure tackler, with good range.

We needed depth and that is exactly what we got.

you're right about Watson, i think if we cut him after 6/1, there's more of a cap savings (read that somewhere).

funny thing with Watson is that as horrible as he was last year, and he was definitely horrible, he was actually a solid nickel back the season before. Those games he started last season were a joke. He's not on the corner at all but he was decent as an extra DB 2 years ago. I wonder if he gets cut at all.
