All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

MIAMI -- Fullback Cory Schlesinger and wide receiver Az-Zahir Hakim
JACKSONVILLE -- quarterback Byron Leftwich
OAKLAND - Donovin Darius
WASHINGTON - defensive end Renaldo Wynn
NO - Quarterback Tyler Palko
Sorry if these were already posted
I would bring in Cory and Palko as a #3 with wynn and wyms from TB for some d-line help

It is quite obvious this team is going without a fullback so no need for Cory. It also looks to me that they are going to go into the season with only two quarterbacks.
If they really want to keep 5 safeties and 5 RB's, they don't have a lot of room to pick up anyone. Retaining only 2 QB's and 5 WR's is the only way we are doing that right now. The only thing I see is maybe an upgrade at DT. We are clearly set at S. Wyms would be a solid pick up and it would probably be Jefferson who goes and not Anderson. All this talk about getting rid of him and he's not even our worst DT.
Can he still play? I bet with Rodney Harrison suspended, the Pats will bring in Darius.
They actually do have a free roster spot, so they should sign someone. I like Darius from a character standpoint, but I don't think they need another S.
However, I hope they bring in another young LB who can play ST. That is an area of greater need.
BTW, one guy who benefitted from Harrison's suspension is ex-Bill Rashad Baker, who made the team. He might see some action as a reserve S.
They thought they found a security blanket in Al Wallace, but he got hurt. At this point I'd be happy if they brought in Simeon Rice as a situaional pass rusher for the right price.
Rice is being pursued by Denver and St. Louis, and the Bucs may want him back:
It seems a little unlikely, but there's a chance someone could lose his spot to defensive end Simeon Rice. Rice failed the Bucs' physical and was released on the eve of camp drills, but he said Saturday the Bucs have been in contact with him.
With projected starting defensive end Patrick Chukwurah nursing a sore knee, the Bucs may be contemplating re-signing Rice. They may have to move quickly if they want him, though, because Rice says he is on the verge of signing elsewhere.
'I'm going to make a decision here in the next couple of days,' said Rice, who is believed to be leaning toward signing with either Denver or St. Louis. 'I'm probably going to visit Denver today, so we'll see what happens.'
