Another critical blow has been dealt to Buffalo's defense before the season has even started. Starting weak side linebacker Keith Ellison, who had a strong training camp this summer, is out indefinitely after suffering a high-ankle sprain in the preseason finale against Detroit last Thursday.

There goes "Mr. Interception".

Coy Wire played really well this preseason at LB, I don't think there will be much of a drop off in play from that LB position.

Yeah if DiGorgio is so good in coverage than why cant he play weak side? Nothing against Coy he played well this pre-season but I really dont know how he will be able to handle runs aimed straight at him. Guess we'll find out. He has done well getting sideline to sideline though. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, Coy might have a career year.

based on what? the fact that you have not seen digi play that position at all every in his nfl or college career? or based on the fact that wire has played extremely well since moving back to lb?

Now all he has to do is play well.

He can't cover. He's got a MLB's talents in the body of a running back. The two aren't really a good mix.

really sucks. He's had the best camp out of any lb we've had in years. Would've been interestng to see him put it on the field. I hope Wire is up to the challenge.

I agree. I think Ellison is better. It's more like wishful thinking on our part that wire can play well for 4 qtrs.
