The Cardinals surprisingly cut LB Buster Davis, their 3rd round pick, but they did offer to bring him back to the PS. Davis refused (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/articles/0904cardsnb0904.html):

Davis, the team's third-round pick, refused an offer to join the team's practice squad. Davis was released Friday after not playing up to expectations in the preseason.

General Manager Rod Graves said he wasn't surprised that Davis rejected the chance to join the practice squad.

"I'm disappointed he didn't want to come in and prove himself," Graves said, "but the fact that he didn't I think is indicative of the way he performed throughout training camp and the preseason."

Davis went unclaimed and cleared waivers, so he is a free agent. There are reports he is in Detriot today (http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2007/09/answering_emails_yes_davis_is.html), so he could end up on the Lion's PS. However, he hasn't signed anywhere yet.

Interesting, Davis had some character issues coming out of FSU. Though a move like this is surprising even from him. I never saw a Cardinal preseason game but since he was cut I visited a few Cards board and the word is that he was out of position and his size killed him.

Fletcher lite. Maybe too "lite".

Detriot signed Davis to their PS, per the Arizona Republic (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/columns/articles/0905cardsinsider0905.html).
