Who wants to feel like a Chargers fan...

    ...without Rivers?

Yes another comparison... But the parallels are spot on.

Who here wants to watch JP lead the Lions to the NFC championship game like Brees led the Saints?

    Drew Brees 1st 3 years...
    59.4%, 6.17 yards/att, 3.2% TD's, 3.4% INT's, 73.7 passer rating

    JP Losman 1st 3 years...
    58.0%, 6.70 yards/att, 4.1% TD's, 3.1% INT's, 77.4 passer rating

Chargers let Brees walk and went with Rivers.

Edwards has impressed but does he = Rivers?

Extend Evans and JP now Marv!!!

    JP bashers!!

I think Rivers will get to the SB before Brees does. Maybe both this year.

Again... Edwards < Rivers. At least JP has a chance to = Rivers.

JP has a much better arm than Rivers and is twice as mobile, also Rivers is much more accurate ... other than that they're twins!

well, if that does happen, at least we didn't pay as much for Edwards as the Chargers did for Rivers.

              How about these?

              Jeff Blake, first 3 years...

              55.1% Comp, 6.8 Yds/Att, 4.8% TD's, 3.1% Int's, 79.5 QB Rating

              Jon Kitna, first 3 years...

              56.0% Comp, 6.9 Yds/Att, 4.4% TD's, 3.7% Int's, 76.7 QB Rating

Of course, those comparisons are as meaningless as Brees. Losman improved last year, but he hasn't proven he is a franchise guy yet.

I also find it curious you put a ceiling on Edwards. Of course, Edwards is completely unproven, but in the preseason he showed he has the two most important attributes a QB needs: Accuracy and Poise. If you ask me, those are the areas Losman has to continue to show improvement in.

Edwards played great, against the walmart crew. He is a variable as well.

if we had opposing defenses planning for Lynch like they do for LT, JP would look WAY BETTER than Rivers.

I'll judge JP by how he plays this season. If he improves he's worth extending, if he regresses, I'm glad we didn't prematurely extend him.

I am in JP's corner, and I'm pulling for him, but he has to show me more then he did this preseason. He has to be more consistent, and has to improve his numbers particularly W's

                        What a STUPID STATEMENT.

Ya, he played against the Walmart crew.

Well, uhhh who did HE PLAY WITH? The K-Mart crew?

Did he light **** up with Evans, Lynch, Price etc out there?

No, I didnt think so. HE played with the same backups on his team as he played against.

What a pure idiotic yet non-surprising post..

                          I agree 100%.

Losman has already shown he can make the big play, and that he can GIVE UP the big play.

To be a real franchise QB, he needs to show a lot more poise and accuracy-- not saying he can't or won't, but that's what he needs to do.

difference between SDO and us is that Norv Turner is the worst HC in the NFL and he will blow all of that wonderful talent in SDO. If DJ had Turner's players he'd step back and let the talent have at it at very worst.
