Will we regret cutting all pro LS Mike Schneck?

    In 2003/2004 Lindell had a 77% PCT

    In 2005/2006 Lindell had a 88% PCT

Why an 11% increase - All Pro Long Snapper Mike Schneck - and even Lindell gave credit to him for his improved kicking.

As much as The Answer hates to admit it - this decision very well may come back to haunt the Bills later this season and effect our ST overall.

Neill has already cost the bills a field goal with a high snap in preseason and this is something we need to be concerned about as a whole.

I wouldn't be surprised if we re-sign Schneck in 4 weeks when we can active Hargrove. To make room I could see us cutting Neil and George Wilson.

We might not have a chance to get the all pro LS back - a player of his calibur will most certainly be signed by another team any day now.

SChneck will definitely be missed more than Holcomb. He's more valuable than Holcomb. Hell , even Bennie Anderson will be missed more than Holcomb.

Unless we let him know of our plan prior to cutting him.

Just watched the missed 48-yarder by Lindell against the Titans. The snap by Neill was a little high, but the holder got it down in time and Lindell just missed it.

And in today's NFL, a long-snapping specialist is a luxury, especially in light of the injuries the Bills have already suffered. I'm sure they consulted Bobby April before they made their decision.

So in short, The Answer is...we'll see.

seriously, the long snapper's job is to hike the ball 7 yards. We've got a team full of guys who have been playing football their entire lives. One of them has to be able to do that.

Can he really have made that much of a difference? Seems more like a coincidence to me than his hiking skills. I actually kind of agree with the coaches on this one. Having a long snapper take up a spot on the roster seems a bit ridiculous to me. Neill can play DE why not?

I understand if that we got rid of Schnek. LS arnt that important. How often do you see a blown snap? NOT OFTEN. Holders are the one who usually screw up. For the name THE ANSWER. You sure make alot of dumb responces and threads. Also Schnek was a waste of money.

I think you actually may be on to something there.

In the article about Jefferson playing DE, Dick says their keeping Neil focused on longsnapping rather than playing DE.
So then, if he isn't even going to play ahead of a flipping DT, why keep him over a all-pro LS?

Could it be the coaches actually thought neil was better than schneck? Nah, to easy of an answer for around these boards.

why take the troll's bait, but in any case - I worry about a missed snap too, but with all else that we have to worry about, this ranks pretty damn low on the list.
