Bills To Host Annual Food Drive At Stadium

by Matt Heidt, Media Relations Assistant

ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills will host the tenth annual Fan Food Drive prior to the September 9th game against the Denver Broncos. All donations will benefit the Food Bank of Western New York.
Monetary donations and non-perishable food items will be collected at all gates by volunteers headed by Fan Food Drive chair, Mary Wilson. Mrs. Wilson will team up with the Bills Women’s Association, Buffalo Jills, Student Leaders, and Food Bank staff, who will be at collection points outside every gate of the stadium. Fans not able to attend the game are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items at select Empire Vision store locations in the Buffalo area.

As an added incentive to donate to the Food Bank, Mary and Ralph Wilson will match all monetary donations collected at the gates through the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation.

The Food Bank, through its network of over 400 member agencies in Western New York, distributed close to 1,000,000 pounds of food each month. This equates to 1,180,000 meals provided to 93,000 less fortunate individuals every month.

There is an increased demand on the Food Bank due to rising utility costs and government cutbacks. This is why the Food Bank is so dependent on the Fan Food Drive and the continued support of the Western New York community.

Over the past nine years, the Fan Food Drive has collected close to 64,000 pounds of food and raised over $125,000.00 for the Food Bank of Western New York.

For further information, please contact the Bills’ community relations office at 716-648-1800 or the Food Bank of Western New York’s Development Manager Lori Stachowiak at 716-852-1305.

Nonperishable food items may be donated at the following Empire Vision store locations.
