Article: Bills D on dangerous ground

    Bills ‘D’ on dangerous ground

Denver running game powered by Henry

The Buffalo Bills’ defenders know they have a target on their chests.

They know Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry has to be thinking about cracking the 100-yard rushing mark on Sunday.

They get to prove doubters wrong in Sunday’s season opener.

“Everybody’s kind of got a question mark there, and rightfully so,” said Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay. “The film speaks for itself. Our record as far as run defense goes speaks for itself. It’s something we’ve focused on. We’ve taken great pride in getting it fixed. Now it’s a matter of getting it done.”

Getting it done is a tall order for the Bills’ run defense this week. The Broncos ranked eighth in the NFL in rushing last season, and they should be better this year because of the free-agent signing of Henry. The Bills ranked 28th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed last season. Are they better? That’s debatable.

“We have a lot of questions to answer there’s no doubt about that,” said coach Dick Jauron. “And I think it’s plain for everybody to see, and now we’ll start to get the answers.” ........

The first game of the year can go either way, the Bills can win big or they could lose big. It will be a few weeks before both sides of the ball start to mesh. The Good news is most teams will be in the same boat.

If last years worst run D can stop last years best O there's hope for us.

On paper Henry and Cutler isn't as dangerous as Bush/MCallister and Brees.

Hopefully we can make Henry's fumblitis come back.
