Nick Griesen to workout Wednesday

In need of help at linebacker, the Buffalo Bills will have free agent Nick Greisen in for a workout Wednesday.

Greisen is a sixth-year veteran who had 82 tackles in 10 starts for Jacksonville last season. The Jaguars released him during the final round of roster cuts.

He was drafted in the fifth round by the New York Giants in 2002 and played in 54 games for them, including 21 starts.

Greisen visited Tennessee and Baltimore before meeting with the Bills, who are short-handed at linebacker with Keith Ellison and Coy Wire out indefinitely with injuries.

I believe he played for the Giants a few seasons ago. Not a bad player at all.

great player from what I remember on the Giants and I was shocked that they released him does anybody know what he runs in the 40 yard dash?

This Guy is pretty legit. I rmember watchin him run all over the field when he was on the Giants. Now he aint Ray Lewis, but he more than serviceable in my opinion, if this guy workout pretty decent and isnt totally out of shape, then give him a bills helmet and lets go kick the STeelers ass Sunday, FOR KEVIN EVERETT!!!!!!

Sign Griesen and get a DE and a Safty, Start signing this guys give them at least 3/4 days to somwat understand the system.

So would he take Haggan's spot or is he just for depth? When is Ellison to return anyways? Sounds like a solid signing to me.
I still think we need a better option at FS than Leonard though.

The Bills will likely put Ko Simpson and Jason Webster on IR. Dick Jauron is on record as saying the Bills need help at linebacker and safety, but will stand pat at CB. If they sign Grieson, they will still look for a safety. At this point it does not look like signing a DE is in the works.

www.CouchScout.com lists him as a middle linebacker. I don't always trust their 40 time listings, but Griesen is listed as running a 4.74 40 He is listed as 6'2" and 239 lbs. He is the 56th ranked middle linebacker if you want to look it up.
