11:57 PT: The Naples Daily News reports free agent FB Fred McCrary (Chargers) said Friday he has signed a two-year contract with the New England Patriots. He leaves Monday for the start of voluntary off-season workouts and the team is expected to officially announce his signing Monday or Tuesday. McCrary said the deal will pay him slightly more per year than the $725,000 he was slated to make in San Diego. He said a number of teams showed interest in him, including the Oakland Raiders, Atlanta Falcons and St. Louis Rams. All three had guaranteed him a starting job. He has also switched agents from Gil Thompson to Steve Feldman.
