This is a great read. Kind of takes the current Everett situation and finds some future meaning with it as far as the team goes.
Buffalo's players, most of whom have been quite emotional all week, realize they have a golden opportunity to rally behind their fallen teammate and use his injury and what will be a long rehab process as their inspiration.
If Buffalo, despite its brutally tough schedule and already wide array of defensive injuries, can find a way to battle the odds in Pittsburgh this weekend and beat the highly impressive Steelers, it might set the tone for a special season. A loss, however, would drop the team to 0-2 and likely knock the Bills out of contention just two weeks into the year.
Regardless of whether you're a Bills fan, though, they'll be a hard team to root against in 2007. And in a league that has seen franchises and fans alike turn against its most successful organization, the New England Patriots, because of recent cheating allegations, it's safe to say that everyone could use a refreshing story to carry them through the season.
