BUFFALO, N.Y. -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell flew to Buffalo on Thursday morning to visit with injured Bills tight end Kevin Everett, The Buffalo News reported on its Web site.

"He went to the hospital and visited with him for about 30 to 45 minutes," said Greg Aiello, NFL vice president for public relations, according to the newspaper. "He just wanted to go up and see him."

Goodell returned to the NFL offices in New York after the visit, the newspaper reported.

Wow, that's pretty cool of him! I still haven't found one reason to hate Goodell yet.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - NFL commissioner Roger Goodell visited injured Bills tight end Kevin Everett on Thursday morning, spending 90 minutes with the tight end who sustained a severe spinal cord injury.

Goodell flew from New York City to Buffalo and met with Everett and his mother, Patricia Dugas, in the player's room at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital, hospital spokesman Mike Hughes said.
Bills general manager Marv Levy also was in the room.
Hughes said Goodell requested permission to make the visit Wednesday, hours after Everett's doctors expressed "cautious optimism" that the player might be able to walk again. Everett sustained a life-threatening spinal cord injury in Buffalo's season opener against Denver on Sunday. "He just wanted to go up to see him," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

Goodell is a good man with the makings of a great Commssioner.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

That was the right thing to do. Goodell is growing into his position very quickly, and I think he will be a great asset to the league.
