Buffalo Bills and former University of Miami tight end Kevin Everett showed movement in his fingers early Friday morning, another positive sign in his improvement after sustaining a severe cervical spine injury Sunday, Barth Green of the Miami Project told The Miami Herald on Friday.
Green, one of the world's foremost spinal cord injury experts, said he spoke on the phone with Bills orthopedic surgeon Andrew Cappuccino, who updated him on Everett's situation.
Cappuccino, reached by phone Friday, said the Bills prevent him from publicly releasing updates on Everett, but he told The Herald, ``He's progressing better than expected. . . . We're still very cautiously optimistic. Cautiously.''
