Spygate might never have happened had NFL owners not rejected a competition committee recommendation to allow a defensive captain wear an electronic communication device inside his helmet. "I voted for it," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said Friday following his team's final workout before their home opener Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.



I wonder if vote will be different this year.

Maybe, maybe not. It's hard to tell. It definitely would help keep those defense calls confidential. Plus you'd see the D coordinators covering their lips.
