I look at some of the young guys on defense - Poz, McCargo, Whitner - as well as the courageous performance they put up today, and think the D is only a couple of players from being something special.
I think we have a real find in Lynch, and a somewhat decent line & receiving corps.
We have to face that we're at least a year away. In a way, the worst thing that could happen would be for JP to play "just well enough" to stay our starter, and to keep Jauron as coach. I'm seeing Edwards starting after the bye, grabbing a big run-stuffing DT in the draft and a great corner either in the draft or in free agency, and coming into the '08 season much stronger, and with hopefully a new coaching staff.
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but it's hard to remember a season where it was so clear so early that we just weren't going to do anything...
