This was a very good year for hockey. I just rented both games but am going to buy 08. Here are my reasons.

The pro stick is an excellant feature and the graphics are great. They did a great job capturing faces. Crowd looks great and the comentary is a little better. The shootout is much harder and requires skill. Great job on the options of stuff you can do and great job on the customazation of players equipment. Goalies react alot better.

Hitting makes it impossible to set up your offence and brings a very un realistic game. There isnt a slider for CPU aggresivness which would of helped. The faces on most players look a little acward. EX: Afinogenov looks like hes made of clay. The commentators are still pretty anoying, but like I said on the good, they are improving. The superstar moves are a joke because of how you do them. Like to do a certain one I have to press LB A B. If they wanted to do that then they should of just put ARCADE GAME in bold letters on to of there game.
Overall- 8.0 - Hitting makes it to hard to get that real hockey feal.

Great graphics again and very realistic goals. The CPU is very smart and it forces you to set up in the zone. Skating is the best youve ever seen and probably will ever see. The knew skill stick control is out standing. No more 7 goal games. The most Ive seen is 4 and that was on me. The goalies are very good and seem to make the saves when they realy need to. You cant guess that its a game when you play it. Anouncers are great and the crowd reacts to everything that happens. Great create a play feature and great creat a player feature. Like 2k, this game also has an increadible edit equipment feature. I love the goalie mode in this game!

To many penalties when trying to swipe at the puck. Poke checks dont work that well. Didnt do a good job capturing players faces. EX: Max looks like an average man with a mustash and sideburns! CPU is way to smart and fighting is horrible to watch.
08- 9.2- has to be the best sports game I have ever played.
