entering the season the schedule looked brutal, and it still is. however after two games we are starting to get some clues as to how we can view the bills and potential changes in how we view their 07 opponents
as expected the bills defense is going to give up a ton of yards but have been excellent when the field gets short. should improve some as the youngsters get better and injured players come back but probably will remain mediocre at best all year. offense simply cannot continue to be this bad (can it?) and i personally expect it will rebound somewhat in the short term and then steadily improve as the season goes on
many of the bills remaining opponents do not look quite as daunting as they did before the season. baltimore, cincy, jacksonville, the giants, and philly all look weaker than i expected. dallas and washington actually look better. overall that appears to be a significant weakening of the schedule, albeit at this very early stage
as weve heard the season isnt a sprint its a marathon. the bills look pathetic right now but theres reason to think it should get better. based on all this ive guessed at a possible season result:
0-3 L ne
1-3 W JETS - horrid on defense, horrid running the ball, gotta win these two
2-3 W DAL - god i hope home cookin makes the diff
2-4 L BAL
3-4 W jets
4-4 W CINCY - could go either way but cincy has not been good in bflo
4-5 L miami - just dont see us sweeping miami sad to say
4-6 L NE
5-6 W jack - might be much better by this time but so should the bills
5-7 L was - surprisingly productive on offense
6-7 W MIA
7-7 W cle - fitty points so what they will still suck by this time
8-7 W NYG
8-8 L phi - may be playoff desperate instead of resting as we expected
so 8-8 appears realistically possible. from there it only takes one play to get to 9-7
who knows what will happen but something to keep us interested late into the season. hopefully
