The Buffalo Bills’ short-handed defense figures to get some help soon from players returning from injuries.
Defensive end Ryan Denney (broken foot) and linebackers Keith Ellison (high ankle sprain) and Coy Wire (torn knee ligament) could be back after the Bills’ bye week, which ends Oct. 14.
Defensive end Anthony Hargrove, who is serving a four-game substance-abuse suspension, is eligible to return Oct. 8, the date of the Bills’ Monday night game against the Dallas Cowboys.
