Bills’ defense should get a share of blame

Some of my recent e-mails on J.P. Losman have begun humming an old, familiar refrain – one that was all too common during the worst days of Rob Johnson and Drew Bledsoe. Many Bills fans aren’t so much interested in defending their beleaguered quarterback as reminding me that it’s not all his fault. That much is obvious. Football is the ultimate team game. One man is never solely responsible for a team’s fortunes, although the quarterback position is the most vital and difficult in the sport. Until you get the QB right, you’ll never be a consistent playoff contender.

...when did it become acceptable to allow 445 yards a game, under any circumstances? If we’re going to slap Losman all over the room, it’s only fair to hold the defense to a higher standard, or some standard.
