Week 3 injury update

Player Injury status and updates
J.P. Losman, QB Buffalo Bills Losman sprained his left knee on the first play from scrimmage when he was hit on the left knee by Vince Wilfork. He was replaced on the next drive by Trent Edwards and did not return. Story
Antonio Gates, TE San Diego Chargers Gates left the game after an 8-yard reception on the Chargers opening drive. Trainers looked at his right hand on the sideline. He did return and finished with 11 receptions for 113 yards.
Paul Posluszny, LB Buffalo Bills Posluszny broke his left forearm while making a tackle early during the second quarter. Trainers placed his left arm in a brace before he was carted off the field. He did not return. Story
Cedric Killings, DT Houston Texans Killings suffered a neck injury during the second quarter when he collided with Indianapolis receiver Roy Hall while blocking on a kick return. Killings was immobilized by trainers and taken off the field on a stretcher before being taken to the hospital. Story
Calvin Johnson, WR Detroit Lions Johnson sustained a lower back bruise on a 39-yard reception with 9:18 to go in the second quarter. He left the field under his own power and was later carted to the locker room. He did not return.
Isaac Bruce, WR St. Louis Rams Bruce left the game early in the second quarter after taking a hit. He was taken to the locker room for an examination on his head and did not return.
Ernie Sims, LB Detroit Lions Sims was injured with 1:49 left in the first half when he was hit from behind while trying to make a tackle. Trainers examined his right leg. Simms left the field under his own power and did return.
Alfonso Boone, DT Kansas City Chiefs Boone left the game with 10:54 left in the third quarter.
Mark Setterstrom, OG St. Louis Rams Setterstrom left the game with 11:31 remaining in the fourth quarter after he was injured blocking on a field goal attempt. He was helped to the sideline and was carted off the field. He did not return.
Brian Westbrook, RB Philadelphia Eagles Westbrook sustained bruised ribs on a 5-yard run during the third quarter. He was taken to the locker room for X-rays, which were negative. He did not return. Westbrook will have a CT scan on Monday. Story
Steve McKinney, C Houston Texans McKinney left the game during the fourth quarter with a left leg injury. He was helped off the field by trainers and replaced by Mike Flanagan. He did return to the game.
Steve McNair, QB Baltimore Ravens McNair left the game during the fourth quarter after re-aggrivating his groin injury. He was replaced by Kyle Boller and did not return.
Josh McCown, QB Oakland Raiders McCown left the game late in the first quarter after a 2-yard run. He was replaced by Daunte Culpepper before returning in the second quarter. McCown did not return in the second half.
Sean Taylor, S Washington Redskins Taylor left the game midway through the second quarter with an apparent left leg injury. He returned during the third quarter.
Clinton Portis, RB Washington Redskins Portis left the game late in the first half after he was injured on an 8-yard run. He returned during the third quarter.
Hines Ward, WR Pittsburgh Steelers Ward bruised a leg bone on a hard hit from San Francisco safety Mark Roman in the third quarter and did not return. The Steelers did not announce Ward's injury until the game ended. Story
Ahman Green, RB Houston Texans Green left the game during the first series of the second quarter with a sprained knee and did not return. He was replaced by Samkon Gado. Green will be evaluated and have an MRI Sunday, according to coach Gary Kubiak.
Jacoby Jones, WR Houston Texans Jones, making his first career start for the injured Andre Johnson, left the game in the third quarter with an AC seperation in his shoulder and did not return. He will be evaluated over the next several days. "I can tell he’ll miss some time," said Kubiak.
Khalif Barnes, OT Jacksonville Jaguars Barnes left the game during the second quarter with an ankle injury.
Jake Delhomme, QB Carolina Panthers Delhomme left the game with an apparent right arm injury on a short pass late in the third quarter. He was replaced by David Carr and did not return.
Willie Anderson, OT Cincinnati Bengals Anderson left the game after an 8-yard TD run by Kenny Watson with 2:24 left in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury. He was able to walk off the field on his own power.

I have heard people complain about the equipment that seems to get "better" but might just make things worse. I have heard the reference of helmets becoming almost weapons...

wow! I didn't realize how bad it really was. Apparently we aren't the only one getting hammered with injuries. The Bears have 1 less guy on IR than us. :shocked:

sorry LOG, but LOG DID wish injury on all Dolphins players, I guess karma is a pain in the rear*. Here's to a healthy recovery to all injured players.




*my little observation doesn't include any kind of including the Everett injury
