Dolphins receiver Chris Chambers, who's off to the best start of his seven-year career, received some good news off the field Tuesday when Charlotte, N.C., prosecutors accepted his plea agreement and will drop charges of impaired and reckless driving.

Chambers' attorney George Laughrun said he would enter a guilty plea for speeding on Chambers' behalf in a hearing today. Chambers doesn't have to appear, so he won't miss practice. Because the more serious charge was dropped, Chambers most likely won't face any further punishment from the Dolphins or NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

definitely. if you're smart and humble enough, one close call like that is enough to make you see the light. chambers seems like he just might be that type. i hope so, anyway.

as a football-related p.s.

chambers looks pretty good at his new position so far. i have been impressed with his play, albeit in defeat.
