    Bare Bones Defense

With so many regulars out on defense for the Bills, defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has taken a relatively simple defensive scheme and made it as basic as feasibly possible. With so many new additions to the defense, in order to get players to still execute consistently and play fast Fewell has had to dramatically scale back the volume of his play calls for his game plan.

That is exactly what needs to be done. With so many new and young players it needs to be simplified so they use their instincts.

I respectively disagree. This is a professional football team and by playing a basic scheme it's like slapping your players in the face. You might as well come right out and say that the guys currently playing can't handle the added details.

Why not? These guys have been playing ball their entire lives (most of them). They made it to the pros so that tells me they at least have the ability to adapt and comprhend. Give them a chance and keep moving in a direction that allows every player to elevate their skill sets.

The problem with complicated defenses they time to get timing and signals right. With defense "QB" out and a lot more players out that gives less time to work on opponent which would be needed to spend on complicated scheme.

I think we should call it the "Bare Back" defense since our asses are gonna hurt after seeing this display on Sunday.

                      Re: Bare Bones Defense

Fewell has been so busy plugging holes he's been forced to simplify the defensive scheme so not to overburden the newcomers. "We've stripped it back a lot. It does concern me," Fewell said. "When you practice them, if they don't come off smooth the first or even the second day, you have to kind of take those things out and stick with something that's very base."

Fewell is concerned as well but I guess he sees he has no choice.

This what you have to do when you suffer what our defense has...
Good riddance Fairchild. Of course, the knowledge of your departure will only make TE more hateable than the typical Bills QB. Good luck, hope we don't mess you up like JP.

                          We should just on-side kick every time we score . . . er . . . wait, I forgot. . .
