Sam Adam's number is 95. The current #95 is second year DT Omari Jordan. Will Sam get a new number or will Mr. Jordan (who?) get demoted to a 80s number? :laughter:

Jordan will have to give it up. Grant Irons had to twice already this offseason.

Omari Jordan was on the practice squad last year... Sam is a starting DT... I think Sam gets the number if he wants it...

By convention first signed player gets to keep jersey; first owner can ask for or offer money for it but it does not go to 'name' player automatically. Richard Huntley attempted to buy a jersey number from another player (Morris I believe) last year but the answer was 'NO' and he (attempted buyer) ended up being cut in preseason.

On the otherhand last year on another team a name player struggled with another name player regarding number and was cut shortly afterwards.

If Sam threatens to sit on Omari, Mr. #95, he better give it up or he might accidently fall on him in practice.

Actually, Morris accepted Huntley's offer, which is why Morris is #33, as opposed to #45...

I don't think this is a problem... As I said, Jordan was on the practice squad last season, so he really doesn't need a number if he's not dressing...

Perhaps Adams doesn't want #95... But, if he does, I think he'll get it.

Sorry, BL....but you are wrong. Sammy Morris got rid of #45 in 2001 and was able to get 33, his favorite number. Richard Huntley wanted it, but was rejected and he was forced to wear #39. Huntley actually wanted #34...but you all know that no one can wear that number or else me and Thurm will take them down.

DTs can't wear #s in the 80s

if omari has any sense he will at least make an offer to sam adams. failure to do so could have dire consequences and such a gesture would certainly be perceived as an act of teamwork even though it is relatively minor.
