All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Looks like I'm going to the NC State/Louisville game this afternoon, so I'll get to take a look at everybody's favorite college QB choice Brian Brohm (I still think Matt Ryan is better).
I'll give my opinions and such after the game tonight, and hopefully I'll have some good pictures to share as well.
TE Jon Carlson has finally showed why I ranked him as my #1 TE in this years class has been great blocking today has a TD catch and has been big in the middle as the Irish try and come back.

Ill give EE this Painter can make all the throws with his arm, his decision making leaves a little be desired but he can sling the ball around. Bryant looks like the real deal, really works well underneath.

I also think Matt Ryan is very good, maybe better than Brohm considering he has less weapons, I think, and plays in an overall tougher conference. Ryan has everything, a strong, accurate arm, good mobility, has great height 6'5", and good pocket awarness. If we decide to go with QB in the draft, if Edwards or JP don't pan out at all, I would like to see us trade down if we are picking #1 or #2 and grab Ryan.
I just hope I didn't jinx the kid and he takes a nose dive the rest of the season.
Ryan has looked very good this year but his bad passes have been bad. If he can keep BC winning however though he should climb up I think I have him 4 or 5 as of right now. Im redoing the rankings after week 6.

Alright... let me start by saying that NC State is really not a very good football team, especially on defense.
In the first half Brohm really only did what he had to because Louisville and specifically Anthony Allen were running right over the Wolfpack with ease. Brohm remained in control at all times though and was very poised in the pocket, of course he usually had plenty of time to make passes. I really wasn't impressed with his deep ball though. A few times he over threw recievers or put the ball in places that would have been difficult to catch.
However, his short and mid range game is picture perfect. He completed just about everything he threw, hit his guys in stride, and displayed perfect touch. He was also quite effective in the 2 minute drill, leading Louisville to a late field goal before half time with little time to work with.
The Cards ended up with nearly 250 yards rushing and even the fullback broke off 112 yards. The Louisville D also forced 5 turnovers and pretty much kept NC State at bay all day long. Brohm was 20-33 for 251, and I'd say most of his incompletions were when they took shots down the field.
Like I mentioned before, I'm not as sold on Brohm as everybody else seems to be at this point, but he did show me that he's a very good QB just the same. He manages the game well and is great on the short to mid range passing plays, but I don't trust his deep ball at all. That being said, all this came against an NC State that was just basically overwhelmed at every position on the field. Brohm's numbers certainly weren't mind blowing, but of course, they didn't have to be either. Louisville killed the Wolfpack on time of possession, especially in the first half, by running the ball down their throats. Louisville had the ball for a total of 38+ minutes, and were over 20 in the first half alone.
Thanks man, this new camera is bad ass... those small versions don't do some of the pictures justice. Not bad for my first real time using it too, I'm sure I'll get better as I practice more.
Can't wait for pictures from the Sabres/Canes game when I'm sitting 4th row!
Very nice pics and write up BMN, anybody else stand out to you on either side?
No, I tried to keep my eye out for others too and nobody really stood out. I think it would have been hard to just the way the game played out. NC State is really bad but Louisville didn't play real great either and let them hang around too. The ball control was the most noticeable thing, Cards ate tons of clock. Their whole o line looked good, opening huge holes and protecting Brohm all day, but that's a direct corelation with out crappy State is too.
