Robert Royal, Unused or under talented?

I have a strong feeling you will find out today that " He was unused"

You may be saying the same thing about Peerless Price.

I have been arguing this point all last season, but now I get to make my point!

Trent Edwards sees the field better and has a MUCH faster release....

It all comes down to the ability to find the secondary receiver and has little to do with the game plan.

They're both under-talented. If we can sit here and say "Fairchild is limiting the playbook because JP doesn't get it", you have to at least consider the fact that he's also limiting plays to Royal and Price because they suck.

I think Royal has some talent but can't keep his head in the game. Price is just washed up. His entire career is one good season with Bledsoe in Gilbride's pass happy offense.

You know, I was talking to a friend who's a Skins fan the other day. He said "You guys used to have some good receivers like Moulds and Price- whatever happened to Peerless Price? Is he out of the league?". The guy watches Sportscenter every day and subscribes to ESPN insider and didn't know we still had Price. He got a good laugh when I reminded him, too.

Yes on both for Royal..under used and a bit under talented.
P Price just cant separate any more. Used to get by on speed that masked his lack of physical ability....not he is just slow and weak and old.

It's a given that Fairchild hasn't used his TE's much. This can be rooted to Martz, who fairchild was under a few years, never gave much of a damn to implement TE's into the gameplan as receivers. Royal's strength has always been as a blocker, but I think he's a little better receiver than given credit for. I hope Royal is given more chances to stretch the field in the near future.

Talented enough to fumble and kill an excellent drive.

The fumble doesn't help his case.

                        Tony Gonzalez, he's not.

A serviceable, decent tight end with vertical reach and size, with some blocking ability? That he is.
