San Diego and Norv Turner. AJ Smith in one of the dumbest moves any GM has ever made fires Marty Schottenheimer. Why? Schottenheimer doesn't have a great post season history. There was also a rumor that the two of them didn't get along very well. AJ Smith then hires Norv Turner, a good offensive coordinator who is a two time loser as a head coach. Now San Diego is 1-3. They have a boatload of talent, but are executing like high school players. Smith deserves to get fired.

Re: My vote for worst offseason coaching hire
I gotta say San Diego and Miami. San Diego went 14 and 2 last season and four games into the season already have more losses that.I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I've seen bits of all 4 chargers games...I think they quit on the front office.
For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.

Carroll can't cut it in the big leagues...He'd be better off staying put, or taking bigger bucks with a different program.YardRat Wall of Fame

Re: My vote for worst offseason coaching hire
agree about turner, though the blame must go to AJ smith for that one.
as for cameron, i thought he was an idiot after 2 weeks, sitting at 0-2.
now, after 4 weeks, sitting at 0-4, i think he's a bright guy. the offense is improving to the point where you can see they're going to be successful at what they do. the D is abysmal, and there needs to be some rebuilding, but i'm not demoralized.
i'm actually kinda psyched because cam was heralded as an offensive specialist, and there is immediate, visible progress in his area of specialty, basically with the talent the team had on hand.
the D quite simply needs to get younger and better up front. and at LB, and in the secondary... ugh... it seems like everybody got old and fell off a cliff at once, and the young guys haven't stepped up yet (if they ever will remains to be seen). there was too much to fix in one draft. anyway, they should have a great pick next year, and i like what i've seen out of mueller in his drafts.

Re: My vote for worst offseason coaching hire
I meant to say San Diego is a slam dunk over Miami. I can't imagine Smith survives the fiasco, and Turner will go back to doing what he's actually good at, coordinating an offense.I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
