Of course we all know it's about much more than the stats......but here are some numbers/stats to digest just to put into perspective just how good of a day this kid had:

BUFFALO BILLS HIGHEST COMP. PCT. IN ONE GAME IN HISTORY(min. 20 att.)
1. 82.86% Jim Kelly 11/24/94 at Detroit (29-35)
2. 82.61% Jim Kelly 11/3/96 vs. Wash. (19-23)
3. 82.14% Doug Flutie 10/11/98 at Ind. (23-28)
4. 81.81% Doug Flutie 10/25/98 at Carolina (18-22)
5. 80.00% Doug Flutie 12/23/00 at Seattle (20-25)
6. 79.41% Jim Kelly 10/2/95 at Cleveland (27-34)
7. 78.79% Jim Kelly 11/8/92 at Pittsburgh (26-33)
8. 78.57% Trent Edwards 9/30/07 vs. NYJ (22-28)
9. 77.78% Drew Bledsoe 9/29/02 vs. Chi. (28-36)
10. 77.42% Kelly Holcomb 12/24/05 at Cin. (24-31)

These are not just games by rookies....these are throughout the entire history of the Buffalo Bills.

Also..........

22 completions are 3rd most by a Bills QB in his first start with the team!
1. 31 Vince Ferragamo, 9/8/85 vs S.D.
2. 26 Drew Bledsoe, 9/8/02 vs. N.Y.J.
3. 22 Trent Edwards, 9/30/07 vs. N.Y.J.

Also, he completed 9 straight passes at one point and was 5-for-5 total on the two TD drives the team had today.

Any way you look at it.....and no matter WHAT happens from here on out.....no one can ever take this day away from this kid. He deserves every bit of praise he gets.

Great job, Trent!

I thought he looked very poised today. He stood in the pocket and made plays. He found the right guys, never seemed to lock in on one reciever and threw the ball with great accuracy. I can't remember a QB who threw the ball downfield with as much accuracy as Edwards did today. I know he'll struggle at times this year as long as he continues to play against better opponents than the Jets, but today was very encouraging. I'm only hoping for the best because I'm so sick and tired of the QB carousel that has been going on here since Kelly retired.

Even most of the incompletions were pretty well on the money - there was one long one to Reed that could have been hauled in, and that pass to Evans in the endzone was a thing of beauty. It could have used another foot, but Evans could have made a better effort, too....

QBs with short touches usually have higher percentage completions than those without it and Kelly and Flutie were great at putting balls so they were catchable. Losman's best attribute is his long ball and that is like being great at drawing one card with a 4 card straight ans succeeding, good and showy, but not going to win you a lot of hands.

It does tend to get you more air time than "dink and dunk".

By all accounts, Edwards had a great game.

Even the last incompletion hit Reed right in the hands on the out pattern...that was just a good play by Revis.

Ironically enough, I think Edwards' worst throw on the day was caught by Lee Evans early on.

While I think Trent had a very good day I dont think that cmp pct is a good measure of that QB's like Chad Pennington will continually have high comp pct days but lose games and not make plays. Stats unfortunately dont show everything.

I think that we are finally seeing how dangerous our slot receivers are. Trent going through his progressions will usually give him a chance to find someone open. Most teams dont have 3 or 4 CBs good enough to cover our 3rd and 4th WRs. I'm very cautious however about how much credit to give to our O against the Jets D. The Dallas game should be interesting. Better pass rush, better CBs, better scheme overall.

Take away the stats for a moment. The team operates completely different with Trent in the huddle. The O-line, IMO, didn't play any better than they have all year but he was using an extra half second to make plays.

The O played with confidence and the players reacted well to Trent's leadership on the field.

To me it's just a better looking team with him on the field.
