    Edward's throwing motion

Walsh called Edwards a potentially great quarterback with a natural throwing motion and outstanding leadership skills. During the game at bar one patron who know a bit about football said it was a poor throwing motion "three quarters sidearn".

Which well known QB is Edwards throwing motion most like?
I never played QB and can not throw well at all so this was never something I paid enough attention to except when balls were tipped.

I'd love to see Jaws dissect his play.

Walsh did not tell what *kind* of motion and I was hoping for a useful example.

What? I think one of the things he was most noted for in all the draft guides was his proper throwing mechahnics and footwork.

            Re: Edward's throwing motion

This is the first time I've really seen him play. I didn't see him at all in preseason, and I, (thankfully), missed the Pats game.

I noticed something right away though, and I'm wondering if I was mistaken or if anyone else picked it up.
He does an extremely quick shuffle step when he throws his short balls. It looks very much like a baseball technique. Most qb's take a longer front leg stride into their throws. As the result of this, it seemed to me, his ball comes out nose low.

Anyway, the kid was dead accurate. At least a third of his completions seemed to be to guys that were very well covered.

Mechanics, to a certain point, are over-rated.

Yea, he releases the ball really quickly especially when he is trying to spot the ball in a playoff game costing them a victory....

Watching the way he moves and throws the guy that came to mind is Marc Bulger.

                          Re: Edward's throwing motion

His throwing motion is very short, which takes a lot of strain off of his shoulder...

Less strain on shoulder = Less injury

he has a quick release which is suited for quick slants and short throws. Something that JP struggles with and may have learned from Drew although Jp's deep spirals look so much better than Edwards. WE'll see if Edwards can improve on that. He's awsome in the short to medium passes but we will need evans to go deep eventually.
