[11:38 AM] Greer Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Buffalobills.com: Jabari Greer's relief appearance in place of an injured Ashton Youboty proved very beneficial for the Bills in their 17-14 win over the Jets last Sunday. Now it has also proven beneficial for Greer himself...

Good for him. I'm still trying to figure out why it took so long for this guy to get on the field. Not saying he's going to the Probowl or anything, but I think he's more than capable of making plays.

I think he is a little too aggressive for the coaching staff and gets beat on long balls sometimes but I'd rather have a guy like that than some chickenass who plays 15 yards off the ball.

you know, it's got to be his size. he really is a pretty good football player.

he might also not be the kind of run support player they like, but then again neither are any of our LBs (healthy ones anyway)

He actually had pretty good coverage in the Patriots game as well (he was right on Moss' hip on that TD catch), and he seems to be sustaining his good play. He has had an impressive season and may turn out to be valuable.

I agree, he is definitely capable of making plays.

IMO, the reason he didnt see the field that much in the past is because he simply wasnt that good. I remember he used to get beat a lot more than he does now. He has really improved this season, which is a big relief for this defense.

Not to mention, he came to this team as an undrafted free agent. Good for him!

Wait.

This thread has nothing to do with Trent Edwards.

Quit freaking me out.

Nice to see a guy that's been busting his butt for 4 years and often been given the short end of the stick, finally work his way into the spotlight.
He's currently a favorite of mine.

Greer's better than Youboty. That's been my opinion right along. :bf1: JG!

I think that's the process this team takes. You have to work extremely hard to get in there. Greer has been put in a position where he has to play at his best to stay in...it's showing because they're forcing the best out of him. Smart move in my mind.

Great news! Now hopefully the Bills will give him a shot for the #2 or even #1 CB job. He deserves his chance.

Same, it seems to me that DJ has been covering his ass by starting Youboty just because he was a "highly touted" draft pick rather than Greer.

I think your point is right on.

I have always thought of Greer as the defense's version of Roscoe Parrish: great speed and skills but not a guy that you think will hold up physically over the course of a season if he is over-used.

We don't have much of a choice now - he has to be a front line player.

I hope that his body can hold up.

Greer did a lot of work in offseason adding muscle which is why he is making plays now.

Easily our best CB.

Too bad we had to have 27 players on IR before he got to play. What does that say about the talent evaluation of the coaching staff?

Everytime he's out there, he makes plays, so play him!

Also, not playing a DB (or anyone else) because he might get hurt is ******ed. Get everything you can out of him while he's healthy, or he never does you any good.

WAY TO GO, JABARI!!!

This literally could not happen to a nicer guy!
