How Come NO John Wendling ??

I have to say i am a bit surprised by this, Bryan Scott gettin playing time over a 6th round pick, who has been learning the scheme since mini camp, and yet they give a start to a guy that we just signed 2 weeks ago, I understand Scott has some NFL starting exp, and is a former 3rd round pick but u would think this coaching staff would want to see what they got in Wendling considering the didnt hesitate to put in Ellison last year, 4.4 speed and 6'1 220lbs would be nice at the saftey postion, although Scott is big too there is a reason he has been cut by 3 teams already
    any thoughts?

    It's John Wendling, BTW...

But yeah, he was highly praised when we picked him, would be nice to see what he can do.

Suprised that George Wilson will be getting mixed in instead of Wendling...Wendling must not be so hot.

It was known that Wendling was a developmental type of player.

Let's give him some time to develop.

I guess jumping 10 feet in the air on youtube doesn't translate to being able to play in the NFL.

All the talk about using him as a LB or in the secondary. What a joke. Our team is depleted and we can't use him at all?

This is why when people cream their pants over giving up talent for 6th and 7th round draft choices looks stupid.

              He is a rookie.

Can't we wait more than three weeks to say eh can't play in the NFL?

6th and 7th round picks rarely make it, but they do sometimes (see Brady, Tom)

can he catch? Maybe he can be a TE in the endzone since he can jump so high.

Yes, I have run out of patience on the organization in general. Next year will be our 3rd year of rebuilding and it looks very unlikely that next year's team will be ready for a playoff appearance.

They keep feeding us crap and we keep eating it. I'm sure Chris Brown will do another "feel good story" on the next group of 6th and 7th rounders to get us to believe that they are the equiv. of starters.

I was thinking, give Wendling the ball when we need a yard or so for a TD,
he should be able to leap over everybody!

You are talking about one of my favorite players.

Fans have to remember that this guy is a smart, smart football player and was projected late 1st round by many!
Some had him as the Best SS available.

This guy was a feared hitter and many RB's and WR's knew where Wendling was on the field....as he would lay you out.
I am sure we will see him soon! He plays like a linebacker.
I think he trys to hurt people....really!

Check my sig, he will be a good player in the future.
