Lee Evans (javascript:newWin('http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?statsId=6772')) absolutely hung Trent Edwards (javascript:newWin('http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?statsId=8346')) out to dry on a one-on-one pass in the end zone, when Evans sort of lazily fell backward as Andre Dyson (javascript:newWin('http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?statsId=5507')) (not exactly Deion Sanders (javascript:newWin('http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?statsId=589'))) rose to the highest point and picked off the ball. Buffalo won the game, but it would have been a shame had that play ruined what was otherwise a very fine introduction for Edwards.[/QUOTE]

And I thought I was the only one who saw Evans kinda just give up on that play.

Lose volume on your TV. After that play the anouncers said that like 10 times.

Evans certainly could have made a better effort, but I think that was one of Edward's poorer throws.

yeah or the ball could have been more of a rope to the back of the endzone. but i guess lee evans full speed for a pass to pilon was supposed to stop from full speed then leap backwards

Evans was running full speed. To suddenly change directions and come back for the underthrown ball, much less jump for it, would have been almost impossible.

Evans misjudged where it was coming down, he could of made a play on it to either catch it or knock it away.

I agree, that was more on Trent than Lee.

the Lickers are notorious for that.they have easily become bigger homos than the Flutie Flakes.

nice spin...under thrown ball.

It could have been just a mistake between the two. Trent might have said goal line and Evans might have heard corner.

These are the types of plays that Trent can learn from. If he continues to make this mistake week in and week out, then, and only then, will we have cause for concern.

Trent under threw the pass. He admitted that during the press conference. JP would have said there was a "miscommunication." Give Edwards props for taking accountability.

With that said, Evans didn't look like a #1 receiver. He saw the ball was underthrown and basically was hoping it would float in his hands. Not a good looking play be Evans.

Yeah Evans should have at least gave an effort considering the huge leap he gave earlier to get a high ball.

it was a late throw by edwards. i was at the game and said that as soon as i saw it leave his hand. he turned towards evans side and paused just an instant before releasing, which is usually enough to lose the oppty as the cb usually closes after that

on replay i saw that he had evans open and allowed the cb to close the gap by being late. yes he could have thrown it a bit longer but at that point its very close to the backline of the ez making it a tougher throw to keep it from going oob. and there was really no need to put it there if it had been a half second sooner

also agree it was not evans best effort but it was a nice play by the cb. i think evans was playing that the ball would clear the defenders leap and hed catch it deep. hes done that many times with losman. its a tough call when youre live and he just made the wrong choice

At least he made plays to make up for it unlike our other QB

The ball was late and underthrown, and Lee was running full speed in the opposite direction. It would have been almost impossible for him to catch it.

Could he have knocked the ball away to prevent the INT? Maybe, maybe not- his momentum was carrying him in the wrong direction. But damn- at least make the effort- don't give up on it so easily. A slight misdirection or interfering with the CB's line of sight could have prevented the pick.
