Now is the time to trade A-Train

Gruden: Pittman could be out 6-8 weeks
Bucs running back Michael Pittman could be out six to eight weeks with an ankle injury, coach Jon Gruden said in his weekly news conference on Monday.

Pittman injured his right ankle during the second quarter of Sunday's 33-14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Gruden described the injury as "a pretty good sprain,'' but said the Bucs will know more when they receive the results of an MRI later today.

Gruden said the Bucs will "look to see what possibilities are out there,'' in terms of a replacement. In the meantime, Earnest Graham will become the starting tailback, and rookie Kenneth Darby will be elevated on the depth chart.

Nice thought in fantasy land, but bad in reality.

The A-train might be worth a 7th round pick at this point in his career, at best.

I think it depends on how desperate the Bucs really are at this point...maybe we can throw in a day 2 pick for DL help

They won't even consider it unless they get a late 1st day.

or maybe they will if their running game goes in the toilet. Unlikely as it seems backup RB's are having moderate success this year

I seen parts of the Bucs game (local TV), it's flushing already.

i just read in the Buff News that they want to use A-train in the pass packages because he picks up the blitz better thatn Lynch...so I guess we can consider this thread flushed

He needs to stay until Lynch is more adept at reading/picking up blitzes.

Which means Lynch is only going to be in on running plays.

They can sign Suck Williams for free - no need for a trade.

Re: Now is the time to trade A-Train

Lynch has struggled to pick up blitzs. A-train is only on the roster to keep Edwards from getting killed.

I was thinking about how this is as good a time as any to unload the dude but I don't see it happening.
