Arizona makes case to host 2008 Super Bowl

PHOENIX (March 25, 2003 9:35 p.m. EST) - The committee trying to lure the Super Bowl back to Arizona made its presentation to NFL owners Tuesday and sounded confident about its chances for 2008 or 2009.

"Our pitch was really about getting the award for 2008," chairman Greg Holmes said. "We did say that, if necessary, 2009 is a year we would be prepared for, but 2008 is our desire. It would be ideal, and we will be ready by then."

The application deadline is October, when the owners meet again. They won't necessarily make the award then, and could take until March 2004 to decide.

"I know New York is very interested," said Michael Bidwill, the Arizona Cardinals' vice president and general counsel. "Washington and others have expressed interest. The deadline for submitting bids is going to be where we learn who the competition is going to be."

That stadium and area is a great spot for a SB. Too bad Phoenix isn't a huge NFL city/market.
Replace Donahoe with Modrak and fire the entire coaching staff!

      Then let's go to Disneyworld!

      GO BILLS!!!
