CKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 25, 2003) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars signed safety Donovin Darius to the franchise one-year tender contract.
The Jaguars tagged Darius as their franchise player Feb. 20.
Jacksonville still is working on a long-term deal with Darius. Any deal that is reached must be signed after July 15, or the Jaguars lose the right to use the franchise tag for the duration of the new contract.
At least two teams have reportedly approached the Jaguars about a trade for Darius, but the team would like to keep him.
The Jaguars also agreed to terms with linebacker Bobby Brooks, a restricted free agent.
