Re: Hecht close to extension?
Deal now done,
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Sabres announced Tuesday that the team has agreed to terms on a US$14.1-million, four-year contract extension with forward Jochen Hecht. Hecht's new contract will keep him in Buffalo through the 2011-2012 season.
Hecht, who will earn $2.35 million this year, was slated for unrestricted free agency after this season. He will earn $3.8 million in 2008-09, $3.8 million in 2009-10, $3.5 million in 2010-11 and $3 million in 2011-12.
Named as Buffalo's captain for the month of October, Hecht already has four points in five games this season.
wait a minute here we actually signed someone during the regular season, looks like the Sabres have learned their lesson now go get Campbell locked up Darcy.
