I know many of you will say he's washed up. but his past merits scare me. If he can bounce back and be half as effective as he was before, he will be a significant help to them. I'd rather see him somewhere else.

Just saw SportsCenter...there's no deal yet. They reported that the Colts are pushing harder to land him.

If this signing happens, it is more about depth and competition than anything else. Smith was just signed to a 5 year deal. He looked good against Philly. I don't think the Pats management is happy about the backup situation though. If Smith gets hurt, there are no other large running backs that could take over. Both Redmond and Faulk are 3rd down backs. Patrick Pass is on the bubble and has not been helping himself.

If they sign Anderson, I think Pass will be cut, and Anderson, at 240 lbs, will be used in a hybrid FB role, much like the Pats used to use Keith Byers....but he is also quality depth behind Smith.

I think antowain will have another good year. Heck, he plays against our DL twice.

Doh! The Bills need defense and the Sabres need offense.......how ironic.

....and for the minimum...no signing bonus but he has a bucket of incentives.

Yeah....the deal as reported on ESPN said $650,000 minimum one year deal with a $25,000 signing bonus....low risk, high reward kind of deal....but apparantly talks hit a snag late last night before the deal was signed.....so its not a done deal yet.
