For discussion during and after the game on how Trent does. Since there are bound to be 10-plus Trent threads, I thought I'd make a feeble attempt at consolidation. :couch:

That is actually a very good idea.

Trent looks really comfortable running the no-huddle.

Is he calling his own plays?

Trent Edwards Era is now in effect.

Here we go again

Give me JP

Name a QB who never makes mistakes. That's his first bad play today.

Philagape

If you want to switch QBs after every mistake, we'd have switches several times a game

It was a troubling play by Edwards, given he choked at the end of last week. He needs to make it happen here on this next drive.

Philagape

Edwards' rate of mistakes is no worse than JP's.

jp has 1 pick in 2 games..

edwards has a pick in all 4 games he has played.

and 2 have been huge huge interceptions in clutch time.

Exactly

2 HUGE Picks that could cost us games that the DEFENSE has kept us in

Hes done nothing, he made 2 good throws, and miffed every third down conversion this half.

Like i said

Give me JP

And add up the bad sacks, deer-in-headlights panicking, bad throws, fumbles, 3-and-outs .... JP has nothing to brag about in his career

Not to mention who's actually moved the offense this year

And yet the Bills were winning by 8 and by 12 even after the 2 picks.

Trent had a good game against a very good defense...and there shouldn't be any more questions about his arm strenght...So what if he made a rookie throw, it's not like it was the Jets' defense out there....and it's not like we have a coach who would obviously call a run play....We saw it against Dallas, we saw it today, we'll see it again....

GO BILLS!!!!!!

Plenty of veterans, good ones, make rookie throws. Favre has thrown the most INTs in NFL history. Anyone pushing for JP has no business harping on mistakes. Pot, kettle.

Overall, TE had a decent game. Let's not forget the kid is a rookie, and he's going to make rookie mistakes.

I'll trade one pick per game to continue to win the time of possession battle at this point in his career.

i like the fact that Edwards can run the no huddle.
He is a rookie, and turnovers will happen.

Ya, i just wish it didnt happen because he was staring down the receiver on a slant, a very bad no-no. That being said, its an easy fix: "HEY TRENT! QUIT STARING DOWN YOUR ****** RECEIVERS!"

Coach Dick Jauron still isn't saying whether Edwards will remain his starter, but was pleased with how the quarterback managed the game.
"I would say he's more mature than a normal rookie," Jauron said. "He handles things very well. We trust him." -- AP

Wasnt impressed outside of his ability to run the no huddle. Left me with a similar feeling after we see a game Losman plays.

If he's still evoking that feeling in two years, then I'll feel it too

He's a Rook, so I temper my observations.

He's got A LOT to prove in the ability dept. Throws good slants and has a very quick release. The deep skinny post to Evans was nice.

The other deep sideline pass to Evans was several yards underthrown and 2 yards out of bounds. Seems like any future offense with him at the helm must rely heavily on short to medium range routes.. basically slants and posts. ( welcome back Holcomb )

Much like Losman, he stares down most every out route and will have DB's jumping on him as a result.

He's about as mobile as Bledslow, which really concerns me since film will show opposing D's that they can stick 8-9 in the box and blitz him, if we have to play from behind. If so, he folds like a tent and goes down immediately. That also ruins any chance at a running game. Not good.

I will give him every chance to improve but won't settle, just because he's NOT Losman. You can take that logic and stick it.

He also missed some wide open receivers today but the reps hopefully will improve his game.

We'll see. The jury is still out.

I think that Edwards is going to be the QB through this year and next but I think we'll take a project QB this offseason (Ricky Santos, Josh Johnson, Joe Flacco) and let them develop behind Edwards and see what both become.

He seems to go through his progressions more, and he's nowhere near Bledslow in mobility. He's done several rollouts each game. Once we have better receivers here, the deep game will improve and defenses will back off. It's not like deep throws are high-percentage.
