    Is the curse legitimate?

Quick Take: Redskins survive Cards' rally

    It was over when ...
Arizona kicker Neil Rackers barely missed a 54-yard field goal wide left with 2 seconds remaining. The attempt came after a wild series of events reminiscent of the Bills-Cowboys Week 5 Monday night game. The Cardinals scored a touchdown with 20 ticks left to draw within 21-19, but failed on a two-point conversion attempt in which Anquan Boldin lined up at quarterback and threw an incomplete pass. Arizona then recovered an onside kick and Kurt Warner completed two passes to get the Cardinals in field goal range, setting up Rackers' miss.

Coaching gaffes aside, it makes sense that the same nailbiter that did the us in against the Cowboys would happen again, but this time the kicker would miss. Just our luck.

But at least here's some positive news:

Quick Take: Bengals rally to beat Jets
    NFL.com

    It was over when ...
Bengals CB Johnathan Joseph intercepted Jets QB Chad Pennington with less than a minute left and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown that capped a 21-point fourth quarter and clinched a victory that halted Cincinnati's four-game losing streak.

If anyone watched this game, the Jets really dominated this game for the most part. Pennington played great but the defense and a final pick 6 lost it for them and essentially ended their postseason hopes at 1-6. It's good for us because they'll likely be playing without fire after such a heartbreaker. And had they had found a way to win, we would have found ourselves in a AFCE season-saver battle next week in the Meadowlands with both teams playing for their lives.

Simply put, we have to take care of business on the road and beat a reeling team by exposing their defense and containing their offense. We need the coaches to step up to the plate here.

Curse? More like "law of averages."

The title was more of a way to show frustration that the Redskins got away with a win in the exact same situation we had against the Cowboys and we didn't. Just shows how are/could have been.

I think the outcome of the Jets game this week will be a big factor in our matchup against them next week.
